Since 1930, Bremen Bank & Trust Company has been a leader in providing trust services to individuals and businesses. Competitive fees and exceptional customer service set us apart from the large impersonal trust companies. Let our trust department manage your trust with your specific needs and objectives in mind.

Personal Representative of Your Estate

Your death will be a difficult time for your family and friends. Our experienced personnel will free them from the complex matters involved in the settlement of your estate.

Custodial Accounts

When we serve as Custodian, you sign a letter of instructions and then deliver the securities, cash or any other asset to us for deposit to your account. You retain ownership of your assets and can add to your account, withdraw from it or terminate the agreement. You make all the decisions on the purchase and sale of securities and we follow your specific directions. We handle the day-to-day obligations such as clipping coupons, receiving interest and dividend checks, and notifying you when maturing assets come due. We provide you with regular statements of activity on your account.

Revocable Living Trust

A revocable living trust is an agreement under which a Grantor (you) deposits cash, securities or other assets into an account. The Trustee manages the assets for you or your designated beneficiary and then distributes the assets according to your instructions in the Trust Agreement. This trust can terminate and be distributed after your death or it can continue beyond your lifetime for the benefit of your beneficiaries.

Revocable simply means the trust can be changed. The terms of the trust can be modified, beneficiaries can be changed and you may even terminate the trust if it no longer suits your needs.

A revocable living trust has many advantages for you
1. Supervision of your investment portfolio
2. Prompt collection of investment income
3. Regular statements of the account
4. Simplification of income tax preparation
5. Future protection if you become ill or incapacitated (We can pay your bills and assist you and your family.)

Testamentary Trust

A Testamentary Trust is a trust you set up in your will. It comes into effect after your death. This trust can continue to provide asset management for the benefit of your family or any designated beneficiary for as long as you direct under your will. Your beneficiaries will receive many of the services that our living trust clients enjoy. You can provide peace of mind for yourself and your family by naming Bremen Bank & Trust Company as Trustee under your will.

Self-Administered Trust

With a self-administered trust, you act as your own Trustee and manage your trust assets. When the time comes that you no longer want to handle your investment portfolio or if you become ill or incapacitated, Bremen Bank & Trust Company, as Successor Trustee, will be there to administer your trust just as you direct in the trust agreement. No fee is charged by Bremen Bank & Trust Company until we assume the role of Successor Trustee and take over management of your assets. This type of trust provides you with the freedom and flexibility to independently take care of you finances now and gives you the protection and peace of mind that the bank will be prepared to administer your affairs in the future.

When you name Bremen Bank & Trust Company as Trustee, you will receive our personal attention and we will manage your trust with your specific needs and objectives in mind. Just as every person is unique, so is every trust. We will be there to handle your financial affairs and also take care of your personal needs, if necessary.
